Savannah - Marie Griffith O'Brien, 88, died March 25, 2010 at Azalealand Nursing Home. She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late Seabron S. Griffith and Elizabeth Hardee Griffith. She was a 1938 graduate of St. Vincent's Academy. After graduation she met and married her husband of 65 years, the late David M. O'Brien, Sr. and lived in Savannah until l965 when they moved to Atlanta. She returned to Savannah in January 2009. Mrs. O'Brien was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and a homemaker.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie O'Brien Wall of Savannah, two sons and daughters-in-law, David M. O'Brien, Jr. and Susan O'Brien of Hoschton, GA, Richard R. and Kathy O'Brien of Suwanne, GA, eight grandchildren, Christopher Wall, Michael Wall, Vincent Wall, Erin Boyt, Katie Adams, Emily O'Rourke, Carrie Power, Anne O'Brien and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with a Christian Wake Service at 4:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with The Reverend Mariusz Fuks Celebrant.
Burial: Catholic Cemetery.
